At our core, we’re about producing garments in a way that is as gentle on the planet as possible.
Design
One of the best things a company can do for sustainability is make fewer products with longer life cycles. That’s why we craft pieces that are made to last. Considered design is part of our DNA, so we don’t chase trends, and our vision of a slower evolution means new styles are developed sparingly.
FABRIC
Ensuring Longform merino carries the highest possible standards is one of our core values. All our merino carries ZQ standard as the minimum requirement, and we will add ZQRX merino to our supply chain in the very near future.
The natural properties of merino wool mean that Longform merino garments need less washing, resulting in garments that will last longer, and use much less water.
MAKE
Our fabric knitters are a Bluesign System Partner who also work under the International Accountability SA8000 Standard. This ensures well-being and safety standards for workers are provided, as well as safe workplaces, healthy working conditions and a living wage. In addition, they also carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, meaning our fabric meets strict ecological and human safety standards across fibre production, dyeing and finishing.
Longform merino garments are manufactured in Vietnam, in facilities that meet the Responsible Wool Standard. This standard means workers receive fair wages and working hours, and ensures freedom of association and collective bargaining. It also ensures environmental requirements are met. We visit the factory regularly throughout the year.
PACKAGING
All Longform garments are packed in bags that are made from 100% recycled plastic, and all online orders are wrapped in FSC tissue paper and shipped in either FSC paper or 100% recycled plastic packaging.
We use packing tape that is made from FSC paper and has a water adhesive.
